This 11-page guide explains how KRE8ivU music production, filmmaking, and digital media projects can support selected North Carolina academic standards and Portrait of a Graduate competencies. It includes K–2, 3–5, 6–8, and 9–12 examples, with explicit Grade 6 connections.

Current and upcoming frameworks
The guide uses 2024 arts standards and distinguishes current ELA standards from the 2027–28 transition.
Evidence of learning
Use plans, recordings, source notes, critiques, and individual explanations alongside the finished project.
A Grade 6 example
For General Music 6.CR.1.2, learners compose 4–8 measures of original rhythmic and melodic ideas through notation or recording. A KRE8ivU project can pair that composition with a short digital story. Educators can review the score or project file and ask the learner to explain the musical choices.

Which ELA standards apply to Summer 2027?
The 2017 ELA standards remain in use through 2026–27. The adopted 2026 ELA standards begin in 2027–28. A school can use the guide to plan reinforcement or preparation, identifying the intended standards version.
